Make-Up 411

Today we had the pleasure of meeting mark.'s make-up artist, Jamie Greenberg. She was AWESOME! Here is a picture of all the interns and Jamie. Jamie is in the center holding a magalog.

Like the other women who have spoken with us, Jamie's life has been a whirlwind as well! She claimed to have a split personality growing up and all the way through high school--the only girl on the soccer team, but also the girl playing with the bright red lip stick and a french manicure. Her identity crisis didn't end after high school though and can be seen by looking at her resume. Jamie's past jobs have included a National Geographic intern, E! entertainment intern, Bloomingdale's make-up counter artist, editor, and stand up comedian. It took her a while to find her niche in the world, but when she could confidently say that it was make-up, she totally excelled. Jamie told us she jokingly said to her make-up on day, "I think we are obsessed with each other. Let's date?" And it has a match made in heaven. Jamie was definitely entertaining to listen to, so charismatic and energetic. She had such a witty sense of humor. All the interns loved her and couldn't stop laughing.

A little about Jamie...The first famous person Jamie did make-up for was Lionel Ritchie! She also has done make-up for the cast of Nanny 911, Pussycat Dolls, Oprah, Ellen, the Kardashians, and the cast of high school musical--and the latest and greatest stars--the cast of Twilight!

When Jamie first met mark., she felt a positive force of energy being fueled by strong, independent, successful women. She liked how they were able to make others feel good by helping them find their inner beauty. Jamie said that she and mark. had three major things in common that helped her decide to officially join the team. They were: 1. positivity, 2. belief, and 3. hard work. It was a no brainer to team up with mark.!

Jamie left us with her life gems:
"Hard work and practice will push you to levels you never thought possible."
"We have the power to do and be whatever we want if we really want it."
"A positive attitude and kindness will get you farther than you think."
"Giving back and being thankful will keep you in a very safe place."
"Doing what you love is the key to happiness."

After hearing from Jamie about her life story, she sat down with us and all the mark. products and gave a beauty 411 session. She had the GREATEST pointers. They were business hints and make-up hints all together in one presentation. So cool! A few things she mentioned were:

1. Start everyday with mark.'s "Mist Opportunity Spray" and use throughout the day as well for a quick face lift.
2. Moisturize the lips with mark.'s "Kiss Dry Goodbye" before adding a full face of make-up. This way, by the time you are ready for lip stick, your lips will be soft and ready to go!
3. Prep the skin with multiple concealers and use mark.'s "Please Hold Eye Primer". She showed us the difference between using primer and not using it--I was in shock with the difference. Everyone needs this product!
4. mark.'s "Keep it Going Longwear Eyeliner and Shadow" are good for oily eyes.
5. Layer mark.'s products. This includes eye shadows, blushes, mascaras, and liners. The looks she created by mixing and layering were so pretty! It's all about being creative.
6. Clean mark.'s brushes with a dollop of shampoo every week. They are real hair bristles and can be treated just as we would treat our own hair.
7. mark.'s "Speedway" foundation stick is the easiest product to use--Even for the girl who claims she doesn't wear make-up.
8. Use mark.'s "Just Pinched" blush before applying powder foundation. The cream will hold better under that layer of powder.
9. Feeling oily? mark.'s "Cheat Sheets" are the way to go. Just a few dabs and you're oil free!
10. Every celebrity loves mark.'s Jewel body creme because of its shimmer and its scent.
